Painting Wildlife

I’m going to stick this under the blog section because this will be an ongoing project with unknown minis and toys coming my way.

Many years ago, I was approached by a man that runs A Silver Lining in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. He asked if I could paint some toys and cast pewter for his store. I did a few things for him and that was it.  A few months ago, I got a surprise email from him again, asking if I would be willing to do some more painting for him.  What I learned this time around though, that these little minis and toys are sold not only at his shop, but also at the Audobon Society in northern Maine where they take people on a boat tour to view the Puffin colonies. They are for Project Puffin and the proceeds from the sale of these hand painted items go toward Puffin conservation as well as the conservation of many Maine species.

So far I’ve painted a bunch of cute puffins, some puffin rolling toys, and a handful of frog rolling toys.  It’s such a difference from large models and gaming characters and I’m so glad to be able to help out.

As I paint more and different items, I’ll post over in this blog. Please visit the website link to learn more about Project Puffin and the Audobon Society in Maine.

Note: Please forgive the poor photo quality. The summer is a short selling season for them and I didn’t want to hold up the delivery by fiddling with my camera, so I took these with my cell.
