Commissions and Pricing

I tend to take a more artistic approach to painting and have a difficult time doing anything but my best with commissions. All models will be painted and based to the customer’s specifications and coated with a coat of gloss for protection and a few light coats of matte sealer.   Models that have heavy parts will be pinned and I use a two part epoxy with all metal joints.  Most of my models are painted with acrylic paints but I do have experience with oils and have an airbrush handy.  I tend to take pictures of just about everything I paint.  I will email pictures of the finished work for approval.  I won’t ship until I have a confirmation of approval.

Miniatures can be bought by the customer and shipped to me or I can buy them and add the price of the models into the final cost of the commission.

I generally don’t require a down payment of any kind.  If I’m buying models for the customer then I would like to be reimbursed the cost of the models right away.  I’ve never had any problems with non-payment, but if payment isn’t made within a reasonable time frame, then the finished works can be bought off of eBay.  I like to remain relaxed about commissions and as long as there is communication between myself and the customer, everything will go well and there will be no need for auctioning off models.

I accept PayPal, cashier’s checks/ money orders, and personal checks.  PayPal can be sent to stilllife89@yahoo.com.   Checks and money orders are to be made out to Jennifer Tallman.

In the case of any projects that are not paid for and claimed three months after finishing, they can be bought back on eBay.

The client is responsible for all shipping costs.   Shipping  from retailers and the return shipping will be factored into the final cost of the commission.

Unless other arrangements are made, the models will be carefully packed and shipped back with USPS priority. Insurance is optional and is $1.00 per $100.00 of insurance.

Turnaround time is determined per project.  Certain models will require more attention and time than others.  I will give a time frame and do my best to keep it.

Communication is key and I will send updates on the project and appreciate timely response on the part of the client.

I am generally easy to deal with and if there are any problems regarding the commission after it is done I will do my best to rectify the situation.  I have yet to have a problem in this area and plan to keep it that way.

 Pricing:

The best way to find out how much a commission will cost is to contact me so we can come to an agreement.  I have, however, come with pricing guidelines so the customer can get a ballpark figure at a glance.

These prices are per model whether in a box set or packaged individually. All gaming manufacturers apply (Wyrd, Reaper, Games Workshop, Warmachine, etc. ). These are for the basic 28-30mm gaming size. I will price out anything smaller (6mm,Warmaster, tiny Reaper Minis) at request. A order minimum of $25 is required for any commission.

Tabletop Standard :    Display Quality:    FineCast:

Infantry:       $25                     $38             $30

Characters:   $35-$50          $75-$100         $45

Vehicles:       $40-$90          $80-$200    $60-$150

Large Monsters: $45-$100    $90-$250     $65-$175

Citadel FineCast is typically difficult to deal with and requires filling and sculpting which results in more time spent. The pricing above for that material is for tabletop standard, please inquire for display quality FineCast painting.

My gaming miniatures pricing entails everything from assembly to basing in whatever fashion is desired.  Large amounts of freehand, sculpting, conversions, and special bases will be additional and discussed beforehand.  My tabletop quality is a bit above some others’ tabletop. Display quality has far more time put into it and will have more carefulness in blending, freehand, basing, and have more character overall.

Any models 54mm and above will be priced per model and painted to the best of my ability per customer’s request.

Here are examples of my levels of painting.
